21st-Century Roadside Attraction

Situated on Route 41, also called Nebraska Avenue, the Peninsularium draws upon Florida roots to create a 21st-century roadside attraction, including a brewery, art museum and exploratory wonderland of art installations. The landscape is Florida Native, just like many of the artists involved. A palette of saw palmetto, live oak trees and cabbage palms will provide a rustic ‘state park’ environment.

The site plan for the project was developed to bring public life and activity to the street while using the space behind for parking and deliveries. Turf block paving will provide a pervious surface for water infiltration as will small detention pools in the parking lot.
